Nakshatras (Constellations)

Nakshatras are constellations in vedic astrology identified by the ancient seers with each having its own characteristics, ruling deity etc. These are the basic pillars of vedic astrology and are fundamental in understanding the principles of this ancient branch of knowledge. There are a total of 27 nakshatras covering 360 degrees. Interesting - There is an "adhik" one called "Abhijeet". Mahabharata - the great Krishna while explaining gita to Arjuna said - "of all the nakshatras I am Abhijeet".
